have you ever gone through a day without running water?

The water in my building is temporarily shut off so that the super can check that the pipes are all running properly for providing heat during the upcoming colder months. While this wasn’t something I anticipated, the day has been an exercise in awareness of how limited I am in my daily activities without running water. For one thing, I can’t take a shower. (I found out that there was no running water after a morning work out.) But it’s also simple things like not being able to flush my toilet, wash my cereal bowl or coffee mug after breakfast, or rinse a piece of fruit I want to eat as a mid-day snack. How easily I take running water for granted!
